Kesterwax K24 is a plant-based based low molecular weight, high purity monoester that is compatible with most cosmetic ingredients. It can be used as a slip agent and a skin penetrating agent for anhydrous systems like mineral oil.

Kesterwax K24 can replace many ester oils in cosmetic formulas while increasing the stability of those formulations. The increase in stability is achieved because of the low melting point of the wax.

Kesterwax K24 on its own will give a dry and powdery feel on the skin. When it is combined with other oils, esters, and sunscreen it works to “degrease” formulations. Cosmetic scientists can regulate the esthetics of their product by using K24 without producing the occlusive skin feel found when using esters and oils alone.
