Permulgin 3279 is a mineral wax of the Ozokerite type consisting of paraffinic, isoparaffinic, and naphthenic hydrocarbons with carbon chain lengths between ca. C20 and C70. Permulgin 3279 combines the advantages of paraffin waxes and microcrystalline waxes. In combination with mineral and natural oils, it produces a strong gel network with high capacity, resulting in excellent oil-binding capabilities.

In stick formulations, Permulgin 3279 functions as an oil gellant and improves texture, break resistance, oil binding, and temperature stability.

In emulsion formulations, Permulgin 3279 functions as a consistency regulator, improves emulsion stability, and when used in combination with Castor Wax (Hydrogenated Castor Oil ), suppresses crystallisation of this wax.
