Rice Bran Wax is a hard, crystalline, high-melting vegetable wax obtained from rice husks. It consists of very long-chain saturated C46-C62 esters from C20-C36 fatty alcohols and C20-C26 fatty acids.

Rice Bran Wax functions as a consistency component in sticks and emulsions (W/O and O/W). It helps to thicken the formulation by providing a rigid structural network of wax crystals, improving oil binding, emolliency, film formation, and lubricity.

In sticks Rice Bran Wax contributes to hardness, texture, strength and mould release. Rice Bran Wax can be used a (partial) substitute for carnauba and candelilla wax in many formulations. Rice Bran Wax has very strong oil gelling properties and relatively small wax concentrations are necessary. Our special quality Rice Bran Wax is almost white and has very low odour.
